Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. This site takes a simple approach: it sets no cookies at all unless you choose to accept the one optional service below.

The one optional service: Google Analytics

When you first visit, a small banner asks whether the site may use Google Analytics. It helps me understand things like how many people visit and which pages they read, so the site can be improved. The statistics are anonymous: I cannot identify you from them, and the site is set up for measurement only, with Google's advertising features switched off.

If you accept, Google Analytics sets these cookies:

  • _ga, which tells one visitor from another. Kept for up to 2 years.
  • _ga_<id>, which remembers your browsing session. Kept for up to 2 years.

If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, Google Analytics never loads and none of these cookies are set. Either way, everything on the site works exactly the same. You can read more in Google's privacy policy.

Changing your mind

You can change your choice at any time:

Pressing the button forgets your previous answer and asks again (it also removes any Google Analytics cookies this site has set). You can also block or delete cookies for any website in your browser's settings.
